This shirt brings back an iconic fabric from FIlson’s 1980s archives in the same cut as their iconic Alaskan Guide Shirt. The Safari Cloth fabric is a cotton canvas with an exceptionally tight weave, once used for jackets on safaris for protection against aggressive insects. The material withstands abrasion and is nearly impervious to wind.
The fabric starts out a bit stiff and will soften with wear and washings. The tight weave provides excellent durability and allows debris such as sawdust and wood chips to brush off with ease. The center-back box pleat along with the relaxed cut provide ease of motion. Button-secure front closure and adjustable cuffs. Spread collar. Shirttail hem.
